First you have to believe your ability in Vertical Jump
If you are a Professional athlete or a basketball player, then having a high vertical leap can be essential to your success. A high vertical leap will allow you to reach higher to the basketball hoop or it will help you gain a competitive edge in athletics. However getting a higher vertical leap is not a small task. It requires severe concentration and harsh workouts in order for you to be successful. If someone tells you that you can leap higher overnight, you can be sure that they are lying. However, the key to success lies in believing that you can do better. Although you will still have to exercise and you will still have to do some sort of dieting, the %50 of success lies in the psychological conditioning of your mind.
If the Wright brothers hadn’t believed (and convinced themselves) that flight was possible, may be we wouldn’t have airplanes today. Thus first you have to set a goal for yourself and you will have to believe that you can do it. The first thing that you should do is that you should get some help and measure your maximum vertical leap. This measurement will be as a baseline for your achievements in vertical leap.
Once you have jotted down a baseline, then you will have to put a realistic goal for your vertical jump. There are many articles and websites out there that tell you that you can achieve over %1000 success in a vertical leap. That is bunch of bologna as these feats are false and misleading. Maybe you can increase your vertical leap by 10 times (%1000); but it will be done by increasing your leap by putting realistic goals and doing it several times. It will not be an overnight event. The best realistic goal that you can set for yourself is perhaps %100 improvement in the first stage. Once you achieve that goal, then you can set new goals in vertical leap and you can continue to improve yourself.
Then once you start training yourself, the first thing that you have to do is make sure that you have the willpower to get through. Believing that you can do it and having the willpower to do it are two different things. You have to be able to push yourself more and more if the need arises. Then you can imagine in your head that you are actually achieving a higher vertical leap. This will help you get better each time you try a vertical leap. Always imagine yourself as the winner and you will be able to succeed in the end of your training. |
